Held in a beautiful downtown park and its bordering streets, the Raleigh World Beer Festival is a city favorite, selling out each of the last few years. We selected Raleigh 2011 as the place and time to expand on our Festival by adding elements that promote the Art of Beer. Raleigh, NC We are so excited about World Beer Festival – Raleigh this year! Raleigh is where we are going to debut our expanded Festival theme, The Art of Beer. We want to take Festival attendees farther down the path to beer appreciation, and explore the use of certain ingredients and brewing methods, selecting beers and the use serving methods to enhance a culinary experience, and the history behind the beer styles. The Art of Beer will be reflected in several ways, not just the topics in Beer Talks but in our lounge areas, entry areas, and hopefully, a new feature, a beer / food tasting station. In Columbia last month, we initiated this with the wonderful expertise and support of Piggly Wiggly. Attendees were guided through a sampling of cheeses, sushi, and sausage, paired with beers, to demonstrate the exciting possibilities. The response was incredible. We are also featuring some new artwork in our posters and ads, provided by Wesley Hare. Wesley is a Raleigh resident, a talented graphic artist, who submitted his interpretation of “The Art of Beer” and won our poster competition.
