Thanks to our host Joel Lane’s Public House who is graciously offering a special Sunday Supper menu and non-alcoholic beverage for $10/person (to be paid directly to the restaurant on the 15th).
About Joel Lane's Public House:
What better place to enjoy a hearty sandwich and a cold beer than in
the father of Raleigh’s own pub? A restaurant concept 250 years in the
making, Joel Lane’s Public House will officially begin serving a full
menu of pub-fare dishes, alongside a wide selection of local beer,
bourbon, and fine wines on Monday, August 15, 2011. The tavern will be Tuesday through Saturday from 12:00pm until 2:00am, and Sundays from 1:00pm to 10:00pm. As sister establishment to
Fayetteville Street’s popular Isaac Hunter’s Oak City Tavern, Joel
Lane’s Public House will feature a finely-crafted menu with dishes
ranging from Isaac’s Famous Scotch Eggs to a Jalapeño Meatball Sandwich.
Just as Isaac Hunter’s Oak City Tavern has brought the art of the
expertly-crafted cocktail (and shuffleboard) back to Fayetteville
Street, Joel Lane’s Public House strives to return a tradition of
quality pub food, served in a friendly atmosphere, to Downtown Raleigh’s
Glenwood South district.
About Activate Good:
As Activate Good, we hope to serve as our community’s Volunteer Center and more. Our upgraded volunteer community
launched August 2011, and will allow us to serve our local area through
an inter-connected and active community network of volunteers. We recognize that connections to others around us are what
inspire people to volunteer action. By further building these
connections through our new approach, volunteers who join our community
can become connectors themselves, bringing more and more local people
into the fold and increasing the collective impact we can have on local
causes.
